DNF 48%There were a few too many issues with this for me. I'm not patient. I'm feeling a little stabby toward both Connor and Tabby. They are looking for four letter word that aren't love, and I have a few.
the pillow talk and the three page sex scene? The insta love without intimacy? NOPE. Lots of anal play, 69 & unprotected sex on the second (I think) time in bed? Seemed really...off. weird pacing.
I did enjoy that Connor felt trust was rewarding. I did not enjoy that "whole a real hero would teach the princess to save herself," a line Tabby used and she didn't need saving and seemed self-taught, so I just felt like this was trying really really hard (after derogatorily calling a room of men ladies) and winds up being pseudo feminism blah blah to make up for the fact it tried for an alpha who was progressive and unapologetically strong female character.
I'd rather she mentioned "every kitten figures out how to get down whether or not you ever show up," (Ani Difranco) because her name is Tabby. But maybe I enjoy puns too much.
