The Sympathizer

The Sympathizer - Viet Thanh Nguyen, François Chau Loved the narration. I understand the style of the writing is a little...unpunctuated? The narrator does a great job both reflecting that and making it consumable despite that. And the humor in this book really came through. I should've finished it much more quickly; I just haven't been listening much till the past couple weeks!

Honestly, this is one of my favorite eras to read about, and this book added a much-needed perspective for me. Cliche, but for a reason, my favorite has ever been [b:The Things They Carried|133518|The Things They Carried|Tim O'Brien|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1424663847s/133518.jpg|1235619]....Both books show a messy time for messy reasons making a mess out of people. I wish I could do either one justice in a review, but I can't.
