I liked the book, particularly how well-matched the characters were. Nice to have a man with a solid family life and a woman from more of a broken home too. While I enjoyed the romance, I didn't necessarily care for the hero, or at least didn't solidly connect with him like I have others who are open and honest (thinking immediately of the transparency of Will, Beautiful Player here). At times, he just seemed like a clown. That said, obviously it didn't ruin a thing for me, Mal just doesn't earn a spot in my favorite leading men.
