This book went from hard to stomach to glimmers of hope to redeeming itself, kind of. I enjoyed the prior in the series much more, and would encourage the author to find other ways to describe forceful but consensual sexual interactions ("raping with tongue," etc) For much of it, Tanner was unlikeable and the barely believable backstory of being adrift because of his brother's absence and relationship in late (?) 20s is a bit...curious I honestly didn't connect to either main character which is why it's surprising I still feel that this was a 3. I thought it was ok after the first 30%, and even good at times, which upped the rating a bit.
