Sutton carried this book for me, without a doubt. She was steadfast and strong in the relationship, but without being a pushover. (I appreciated the way she took the breakup, not allowing him to blame her. In fact, that whole scene, including Sutton's narrator in the book sort of redeemed this story for me. i think I would have enjoyed reading this better than listening because it sounded a bit cheesy more often than not. I struggled with damaged man baby Alex, he was codependent, vacillated too much, and just your basic idiot. including the way he made up with her, and the way her proposed, bringing basically the whole world along. I would've been mortified.
