mmmm...delicious angst.
I far preferred the second book in the series (3.5). I connected better with the characters, I've come to expect Geissenger likes her men just a little out of control alpha...This book felt lighter and funnier even though the subject manner also seemed darker.
For me this story smacked of Beauty and the Beast or some similar fairytale. Instead of being ugly, A.J. is super damaged. The chemistry and the plot devices kept me entertained, though I did see most of those twists coming.
I was left feeling a little disappointed at the end, I felt some things could have had resolution without without these quick conflicts and then outcomes - those pieces all seemed very fleeting.
That said, I think I'm going to read the third, despite not feeling too peppy about it, just to abuse my last days of KU. I'm not super curious about these two next two characters.
