Was this a case of high expectations? I've held off reading this book for so long expecting it to be earth-shattering. I got a good, well-paced, nicely developed story. There was a twist at the end I felt was cheap and gratuitous perhaps...which may have downgraded my rating. (I'd have been delighted cutting out the last 5-10% of the book)
The writing was, at times, beautiful. At other times I felt disappointed in the "this happened, then this"
Though I'm not a big twilight fan those blank chapters in Eclipse (?) made me feel more devastated than the robotic agenda reading used here for similar reasons.
This book was by no means perfect, nor was it meh, but it frankly did not meet my apparently crazy expectations. Maybe this is no surprise considering there are similar romances I can't seem to plow through. (I'm looking at you, Silent Waters)
