Honestly, I expected Daisy's book to be delightful. And it was.
I was delaying this, despite my utter adoration for [b:Devil in Winter|114166|Devil in Winter (Wallflowers, #3)|Lisa Kleypas|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1309220205s/114166.jpg|1823830] I was incredibly put off by my last Kleypas, [b:Blue-Eyed Devil|1756703|Blue-Eyed Devil (Travises, #2)|Lisa Kleypas|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1311990880s/1756703.jpg|2323791] Which is contemporary, and which leaves me utterly confounded by her ability to write heroes I want to bite, lick, adore, worship, and reread in historical and a hero that made me want to punch him in the nuts in CR. Her HR heroes are quite progressive, why are those Texans a bunch of pigs?
I don't get it. But this isn't a review about that. Well, it is now, I guess. But, Daisy is delightful and next time I want to get it on I'll have to drop a key down my corset. Well played, girl, well played. Matthew is everything I love in a hero, completely devoted and controlled. These two were so adorable. I seriously loved how he "wasn't romantic" but completely loyal and dedicated. Super real.
Super charming!
